Unlike the Global DAO, which uses token-based governance, the Local DAO uses NFT-based governance. This distinction creates a more controlled and collaborative governance structure with strong community involvement.

The idea behind Local DAOs is simple: give more power to the community while ensuring a stable, trustworthy governance model. The Local DAO grows organically as the initial governor adds new members by vetting them through existing governors. How is Local DAO Different?
The Global FAME DAO relies on token-based governance, where holding and staking $FAME tokens grant voting power. While this approach can be effective, it carries risks of centralization and manipulation, as a few large token holders can control governance.
In contrast, the Local DAO uses an organic growth model, where new governors are vetted and added through the existing governance body. This approach reduces centralization risks, promotes a stronger sense of community ownership, and ensures a more democratic decision-making process.
